Wheel of the Year Influence – Imbolc 2026
In addition to working with the moon’s energy, I also like to incorporate significant aspects of the Celtic, wheel of the year.
Imbolc is celebrated on or near February the 1st and is also known as St Brigid’s day. St Brigid embodies feminity, healing, and the welcoming of spring. The word ‘imbolc‘ translates as ‘in the belly‘. Think of pregnant ewes or the womb of the earth. Imbolc is a celebration of awakening from the cold, dark, winter months and growing our energy. I love this time of the year because I enjoy seeing the snowdrops awakening the soil around them. They signal the first shoots of mother Earth awakening. As a result, it awakens my inner energy and excitement of the return of blossoming life. I must also add, I enjoy looking forward to more light and warmth. In 2026, Imbolc coincides with a full moon and therefore, let’s get creative!
